Message from Executive Director

Welcome to the Nepal Trust Fund (NPTF) website.

We are glad to inform you that NPTF has been instrumental in supporting to carryout important peace related agreements and decisions of the government of Nepal. NPTF is a funding instrument of the Government of Nepal (GoN) and a group of donors - European Union (EU), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Department for International Development (DFID), Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, and Finland. It was established to support critical peace activities and the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA), and other peace-related agreements. The Fund was established in January 2007 and has so far managed NPR 23 billion for supporting 67 projects.

The GON contributes 60 per cent of the Fund, and the Donor Group 40 per cent. The mandate of NPTF will be continued to the end of fiscal year 2017/18, is now in its third phase. Its work during this period will be guided by a new strategy (2014-17) where it would support programmes and projects in four Clusters: 1st - Social Dimension/ Conflict Affected Peoples (CAPs), 2nd - Transitional Justice and Reconciliation, 3rd - Access to Security, and Political dimension.

This website is an attempt to inform stakeholders about the NPTF and the projects and programmes it has undertaken and plans to undertake in its third phase. The site contains strategic documents, reports, publications and other information related to the NPTF.
