- Sadhu Ram Sapkota, Director NPTF
Nepal Peace Trust Fund (NPTF) was established in January, 2007 to support the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Accord and subsequent peace agreements. As an effective joint government-donor initiative the NPTF is presumably a unique funding mechanism in the world in the areas of peacebuilding that is owned and managed by the Government of Nepal (GoN). The NPTF has invested around NPR 14.47 billion for 55 projects in four major thematic areas (clusters) so far.
The stakeholders of the NPTF include GoN (as funder, manager and implementer of the projects), donors (technical and financial support), political parties and civil society (represented in the decision making body), and beneficiaries (conflict affected people, security, and peacebuilding mechanisms at the centre and local level).
The NPTF is a platform harnessing GoN funds supplemented by contributions of eight other partners, namely Denmark, European Union, Finland, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States of America. It is mandated to run until January 2016.
This website provides information on NPTF´s Governance Structure, its Strategic Documents, all NPTF funded projects and the procedures of a project approval. All reports on Monitoring and Evaluation can be downloaded too. The gallery contains pictures of the PFS-team, recent field visits and workshops or other NPTF events.
If you want to submit a project, please download the ´concept note template' and see the detailed procedures (Project Approval).
Please also see the NPTF Youtube Channel for further audiovisuals on NPTF, its stakeholders and beneficaries.
